Hello, my name is Joanne and I am an English native speaker with nearly fifteen years of ESL (English as a Second Language) teaching experience. 

I was born in a small city on one of the 7,641 islands of the Philippines, but my family is scattered all over the globe with the majority having settled in the US and Canada. I myself lived a "nomadic" life before deciding to follow my heart and move here in 2015. Since then, I have been continuing my passion for teaching. I have worked as a freelance English trainer for several Vienna-based language centers where I got assigned to schools and kindergartens. In 2018, I joined the prestigious Kollegium Kalksburg, both in the primary and grammer schools.

I have worked with kids and teens from various backgrounds, and I have come to the conclusion that the most effective way of teaching a language is through practical use - learning by doing and playing games. Thus, the lessons are tailored to the interests of the kids. I always find out what they love and build their learning around that; may it be singing, dancing, board games, films, art, nature, fairy tales, anything under the sun, really.

I believe that happy children make the future bright.
